Real estate links

- Freddie Mac's November U.S. Economic & Housing Market Outlook Report predicts a stronger economic recovery taking hold in 2014, "led by a resurgant housing sector."

- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau released a final rule requiring the use of simplified mortgage disclosure forms — to go in effect in 2015 — and real estate and mortgage lending industry leaders are largely OK with it. 

- It looks like home remodeling might now be outpacing home sales.


St. Louis links

-The St. Louis County Library cracked Library Journal's annual list of "star libraries."


- Filmmaker Oliver Stone will present a director's cut version of his 1991 movie "JFK" on the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination as part of the St. Louis International Film Festival. The screening, held at the Tivoli Theatre, is already sold out. 

- The Humane Society of Missouri has broken ground on a new $12.5 million multi-level animal care facility in Maryland Heights.
